Answer Key

1. (B) 2. (C) 3. (A) 4. (E) 5. (D) 6. (C) 7. (D) 8. (B) 9. (B) 10. (A)

Explanations
1. Interest = Rs. 8791 – 7450 = Rs. 1341

2. 36 % x – 12 % of x = 82.82

6x = 82.32 × 25

3. 16 watches + 21 calculators = Rs. 30485
32 watches + 42 calculators = 2 × Rs. 30485 = Rs. 60970
4. x2 + (66)2 = 4840
X2 + 4356 =4840
X2 = 4840 – 4356
X2 = 484
X = 22
5. Let the money received by A, B and C be Rs. 3x, 4x and 5x, respectively and money received by P and Q be Rs. 2y and y, respectively.
4x – y = 1050
Since, we cannot from another equation here. So, we cannot solve it.
6. x2 + y2 = (x + y)2 – 2xy
= (18)2 – 2 × 72
= 324 – 144
= 180

= Rs. 5000 × 0.092727 = Rs. 463.635 = Rs. 464(about)
9. In 1 day, Girish attends 7 customer’s call
In 60 days, Grish attends 60 × 7 = 420 calls
10. Suppose that numbers are x and y
From question
2x + 3y = 126
3x + 2y =144
Eq. Multiple by 3 and Eq. (ii) multiple by 2 and then subtracted Eq. (ii) from Eq.(i) we get
5y = 90
Y =18
Put the value of y in Eq. (i) 2x + 3y = 126
2x + 3 × 18 = 126
2x + 54 = 126
2x= 126-54
2x = 72
X = 72/2 = 36
X = 36. y = 18
Smaller number = 18
