IBPS RRB IV : Expected Final Cutoff

IBPS RRB IV: Expected Final Cutoff

Hello friends, This is my 1st Artice on Meritmock. I am Anjali.

IBPS has declared the IBPS RRB IV score card for candidates who are shortlisted for interview. Now everyone is familiar with the score of written exam. There is now nervousness coupled with curiosity about the final selection. Almost everyone wants to know about their chances of getting a selection.

Firstly, this is the first time IBPS has conducted Common Interview for all the banks participating in the RRB IV recruitment exercise.

As you all are aware, that the final selection depends on the combined marks of Written and Interview exam and the weightage allotted by IBPS for this is 70:30 respectively.

Since the written scores are now disclosed, the entire thrust is on the performance in the interview round. It is important to note that –
(i) At the time of the interview proficiency in local language was also tested by the IBPS. Whereas the total marks allotted for interview was 100.

(ii) As per the official notification of IBPS RRB IV, the minimum qualifying marks / scores in interview and within it for local language proficiency will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST candidates).

Here now certain conditions arise which directly affect your chances of selection. These are:
1. Your written score is well above the cutoff and your interview experience was also good……. In these circumstances, your chances are very bright.

2. Your written score is marginally above the cutoff but you had good interview experience……In this situation your chances are fair.

3. Your written score is above the cutoff but interview experience is just average…….In this case your chances may suffer.

Now what will determine your performance in the interview are the cutoffs. Based on our analysis of the exam we are providing the expected cutoffs. First we look at the cutoffs of written exams which are as follows –

What will be the final cut off? How will IBPS arrive at the cutoff scores?
It is difficult to predict the exact final cutoff. As per the IBPS RRB IV notification, the cutoff will include both CWE and Interview scores with 70 : 30 weightage, which means that CWE scores will be distribute as out of 70, and Interview scores out of 30. The total of the two scores will be taken for final cutoff.

Process of arriving Final Cutoff –

1. Officer Scale IFor General Category –
Cutoff of Written Exam is – 109.25
(109.25 * 70)/200 = 38.24
(75 * 30)/100 = 22.5 (we have taken maximum marks in interview i.e. is 75)
(80* 30)/100 = 24 (we have taken maximum marks in interview i.e. is 80)
Expected Final Cutoff = 38.24 + 22.5 = 60.74
Expected Final Cutoff = 38.24 + 24 = 62.24

2. Officer Assistant For General Category
Cutoff of Written Exam is – 118.19
(118.19 * 70)/200 = 41.37
(75 * 30)/100 = 22.5 (we have taken maximum marks in interview i.e. is 75)
(80* 30)/100 = 24 (we have taken maximum marks in interview i.e. is 80)
Expected Final Cutoff = 41.37 + 22.5 = 63.87
Expected Final Cutoff = 41.37 + 24 = 65.37

Now it is the time that we eliminate negative thought and keeps our hopes alive as anything can happen till the final result is out. The final result will come in January 2016.

Best of Luck for the Final Result
