Important Points to know about 2015 G-20 Summit

1.The 10th edition of the G-20 heads of government dubbed as 2015 G-20 Antalya Summit was held in Turkey

2. Duration – 15th to 16th November 2015

3. Venues – Antalya, Belek and Serik cities in Turkey

4. Previous Summit – G-20 Brisbane summit, 2014 in Australia

5. Upcoming Summit – G-20 Hangzhou summit, 2016 in China

6. G-20 – established in 1999 to study, review and promote high level discussion on international financial stability

7. G-20 members – Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, European Union, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, UK and US

8. Nations invited to Summit – Spain, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Senegal, Singapore and Zimbabwe

Important decisions taken in the Summit:

9. G-20 developed – Base Erosion and Profit System project that urges the automatic exchange of tax-related information system by 2018

10. It was decided to limit global temperature increase to 2 degrees Celsius above current levels as mentioned in the Lima Call for Action

11.They have decided to achieve 2% additional GDP growth by 2018

12. Resolve to reduce the remittance charges for people to send money back home to 5%

13.They have urged World Trade Organisation (WTO) to fully implement the Bali Package that aims at lowering global trade barriers

14.The summit also took note of India’s viewpoints on various issues including trade, labour, infrastructure and corruption

15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had insisted to lower remittance charges and on the issue of tax evasion in the summit
